January 13, 2022 - A/H Township Hires New Treasurer

CAO Troy Gilmour announced that the Township has hired a new Treasurer as of January 31, 2022. Her name is Nicole Leach-Bihun, CPA, CGA. She has over 25 years  of experience in Finance in both the Private and Public Sector.

May 28, 2021 - Alnwick/Haldimand Hires Fire Chief

It was announced that Dave Dawson would be starting as Fire Chief/CEMC on May 31, 2021. Dave has 20 years of firefighting experience with the Uxbridge Fire Department.

March 9, 2021 - Alnwick/Haldimand Hires Public Works Manager

An anonymous release from Alnwick/Haldimand announced that Brian McMillan will be the new Public Works Manager as of Monday March 29, 2021. Brian was reported to have over 28 years of experience in Public Works with 20 of those as a Public Works Manager. Brian's previous position was Director of Public Works in the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan.

January 18, 2021 - Mark Diminie Removed as Fire Chief in Alnwick/Haldimand

There was no formal announcement from Council but this story appeared in Today's Northumberland A/H Turfs Another Fire Chief

January 15, 2021 - Alnwick/Haldimand Staff Appointments

Council announced the appointment Troy Gilmour to the full time Chief Administrative Officer position and Alexandra Smith to the full time Municipal Clerk position.
Troy Gilmour was previously Deputy and Acting CAO as well as Public Works Manager. Mr. Gilmour started his career with the Township 9 years ago and has experience in Parks & Recreation, Public Works and Administration.
Alexandra Smith was prevously Deputy and Acting Clerk. She started her municipal career with Alnwick/Haldimand Township 9 years ago and has been in the Acting Clerk position for the past 7 months.

February 12, 2020 - Jim Hogg Appointed as A/H Councillor

Roseneath farmer Jim Hogg has been appointed to fill the current A/H Council vacancy.  This is the end result of a number of Council changes that were set in motion when Mayor John Logel resigned.  Gail Latchford replaced Logel in the mayor’s seat and Sherry Gibson was appointed Deputy Mayor to fill the vacancy left by Latchford's move.  As mayor, Latchford also serves as the township’s representative on Northumberland County council. 

Hogg's official appointment and swearing in will take place at the February 20, 2020 Council meeting.

July 25, 2019 - Carol James Appointed To The Position of Treasurer In Alnwick/Haldimand

By-Law 104-2019 formalized the appointment of Carol James to the position of Treasurer for the Corporation of the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand.  Carol will be assuming the Treasurer duties in mid August

June 6, 2019 - Greg Booth Appointed as A/H Township Councillor

The Council of the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand announced the appointment of Greg Booth of Community Centre Road, as the new Councillor. Mr. Booth is filling the vacancy created by the passing of councillor Raymond Benns on March 21, 2019.

After listening to presentations by seven candidates, Council voted to appoint Mr. Booth. Mr. Booth was sworn in at the June 6th, 2019 Regular meeting of Council.

December 6, 2018 Alnwick/Haldimand 2018 Council Inauguration

CAO Robin Van de Moosdyk presided over the Inauguration Ceremonies of Council for the 2018 - 2021 Term.  The ceremonies were held in the Alnwick/Haldimand Municipal Office Council Chambers on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 10:00am.

Town Crier Liam Cragg assisted the members of Council with the Declaration of Office & Oath of Allegiance.

Robin Van de Moosdyk, as the Municipal Clerk for A/H, officiated the signing & sealing of the Oaths.

Mayor John Logel spoke on behalf of Council providing an overview of what challenges face the Township of A/H over the next four years.

Deputy Mayor Gail Latchford stated that she is grateful for the opportunity to serve on Council and considers it a great privilege and honour to do so.

Cramahe Township Mayor Mandy Martin extended congratulations to all members of Council on being re-elected and spoke to the friendship and good working relationships between the two townships.

Hamilton Township Mayor Bill Cane also spoke of the positive working relations, and suggested that the townships work together to find cost savings through shared services.

We congratulate the Council and Staff of Alnwick/Haldimand Township on the many successes over the past four years, and we look forward to open communication, sound planning and decision making over the next four years!

April 5, 2018 - Mark Diminie Appointed to Position of Fire Chief

As Fire Chief, Mr. Diminie will be responsible for and oversee the operations of the Fire Department consisting of three Fire Halls and 55 Firefighters. Mr. Dimine will also be a Member of the new Emergency Services Facility Committee being constructed in the Hamlet of Roseneath.  Mr. Diminie brings the knowledge, skills and experience obtained from his 29 years of service on the Cobourg Fire Department and as an Instructor at Sir Sanford Fleming College for the Pre Fire Service Course.

Mr. Diminie will commence his duties as Fire Chief of Alnwick/Haldimand Fire Department on May 21st.

March 20, 2018 - Robin van de Moosdyk Appointed to Position of CAO

It is with great pleasure Alnwick/Haldimand Council announces our current Clerk, a long serving member of our staff Mrs. Robin van de Moosdyk is being promoted to the position of CAO/Clerk for our Township effective April 27 2018.

Mrs. van de Moosdyk will replace Terry Korotki, CAO/Planner who announced his retirement earlier this year, after 30 years with the Township.  Robin has extensive knowledge in municipal government with 30 years of experience. She joined our Management team in 2003 as Deputy Clerk and was promoted to her current position, of Clerk, in 2011. Robin is a key part of our Management Team, and we are very pleased to promote her to this important position.

Robin is a Certified Municipal Officer, Certified Municipal Manager Level 3 and is presently pursuing her Accredited Ontario Municipal Clerk through AMCTO and Certified Municipal Clerk through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. She also volunteers with her colleagues and peers in AMCTO on the Executive of Zone 5. Commencing in 2008 as Secretary/Treasurer and currently holds the position of Zone 5 Chair.
